A Gamer’s Journey: From Mario to Game Development

In the picturesque setting of Rangamati, 1996, my gaming journey began in earnest. At the tender age of six, I was introduced to the magic of Super Mario through a Nintendo console that one of my father’s colleagues had brought over. The game was captivating, drawing me into its world, leading me to further explore other titles like Mortal Kombat and Adventure Island.

The subsequent move to Comilla in 2001 signified a new phase in my life and in my gaming adventure. It was here, in 2003, that we got our first PC. This opened up an array of gaming opportunities, from the expansive world of GTA 4 to strategy games like Age of Empires and Rise of Nations. My tastes varied, from the meticulous planning required in the Desperados series to the intriguing plots of the Hitman series. It was Hitman: Blood Money that left a profound mark. Agent 47, with his unique demeanor and intriguing story arcs, provided an unparalleled gaming experience.

Mobile gaming also had its moments of influence. The simplicity of the snake game on the early Nokia phones contrasted heavily with the complex narratives of the console games, yet it held its own charm. As smartphones entered the scene, my interests skewed towards games like Baseball.

However, nothing matched the allure of the PlayStation console, where titles like Mortal Combat 11, Red Dead Redemption, and Farcry 6 offered countless hours of immersion.

Beyond just being a gamer, I’ve always been an enthusiast of the art behind it. This drove me to enroll in game specialization training from renowned institutions like Michigan State University and CalArts in 2015. This was more than just an academic endeavor; it was a step towards my dream.

Today, as the founder of EndingScene, an animation studio, I harbor the ambition of venturing into game development by 2025. With our expertise in animation and a deep-rooted passion for gaming, I envision creating titles that resonate with gamers globally, blending captivating narratives with exhilarating gameplay.

From the simple joy of hopping over virtual mushrooms as Mario to planning the strategic moves of Agent 47 and finally, to my aspirations of game development, it’s been a fulfilling journey. And as every gamer knows, the next level awaits.
