From Zero to Business: Six Steps to Success

Starting a business from scratch or embarking on a project with uncertain prospects? This is for everyone who dreams of creating something big, from zero. Drawing from my personal journey and experiences, let me guide you through six pivotal steps that will set you on the path to success.

Believe

The first and foremost step is to believe in yourself. If you don’t, who will? It’s imperative to have unwavering faith that you can achieve what you’ve set out to do. This belief is the cornerstone of all entrepreneurial endeavors.

Plan

Planning with a cool head is the next step. Outline how you’ll achieve your goals by setting clear objectives. Depending on your needs, you might also need to hire a team. Remember, time is finite. When you hire an employee, their 8 hours add to your day, turning your 24-hour day into a 32-hour one. Hire ten people? That’s a whopping 104 hours a day at your disposal! Take Mark Zuckerberg, for instance. With Facebook’s 75,000 employees, even if they each contribute an average of just 4 hours a day, it means a massive 300,000 hours are invested daily to advance Facebook. Plan smartly and hire wisely!

Trust

Once you have a team in place, you must trust them to execute their responsibilities. Constant micromanagement will hinder their performance, and in turn, yours. Let them do what they are best at without constantly looking over their shoulders.

Delegate

Delegation is an art. Make sure you delegate the right tasks to the right team members. If you expect one person, even if paid handsomely, to handle everything from coffee runs to client meetings, you’re setting yourself up for disappointment.

Report

While trust and delegation are crucial, regular reporting ensures everyone stays on track. Without timely reports, accountability can fall by the wayside, leading to complacency. A periodic check-in ensures that everyone is aligned and moving towards the common goal.

Iterate

Once you start seeing results from the above steps, it’s all about repetition. Take what works, refine what doesn’t, and keep moving forward. Iterate on your processes and strategies to continuously improve.

That’s the wrap for this video. But stay tuned as I slowly unveil my story from five years ago. Learn how I went from lucrative positions at multinational companies and Pathao (a prominent company in Bangladesh) to starting my own business, and even turned my former employers into my business clients. It’s a journey of faith, determination, and strategic steps – all of which you can implement too!
